And the Award for the Most Spoiled Father Goes to…

…David!

Our daughter took him to “Burlington Steamboat Days” to see the band, “Skillet” in concert. Before they left, I said, “When you get to the parking lot, turn around, eat a piece of pie and come right home because that is what happened on Mother’s Day.” (See Dreamed.)

He laughed. I could tell they were enjoying themselves by the picture and video he posted on Facebook.

It’s nice to enjoy an extravagant gift, after all, “Skillet” doesn’t regularly play in Iowa, but they are not necessary. You would be surprised to find out the #1 request of fathers and mothers.

1 Thessalonians 3:10, “Night and day praying earnestly that we might see your face…” Modern English Version

I asked my mother if she wanted to have a party for her birthday this year. She replied, “No, I would rather go to Virginia to see Jon.”

Jon calls every week and sends pictures of his kids but hearing his voice is not the same as seeing his face.

This year, David and I both will have to look to heaven to say, “Happy Father’s Day” to our dads. We look forward to the day when we will once again see their faces.
