Brotherly Kindness

I wasn’t the only one quietly enduring affliction last night. Another member of the worship team was in pain. After practice, they returned to their vehicle for more medication.

I made it through the song service okay, but during the sermon, I turned in my chair and pulled the muscle again! I didn’t know what to do.

I froze and tipped my head down, letting my hair fall forward to cover my face. I didn’t want anyone to see my grimace as I waited for the spasm to pass. I broke out in a sweat and felt sick to my stomach.

Grabbing my purse, I went to the bathroom. I took some antacids to settle my stomach but still felt sick. It was 93° outside and I couldn’t sit in the van for a half an hour. I found a bench in the hall, partially concealed by a plant and listened to the rest of the sermon from there.

After the service, the other worship team member found me and asked if I was okay. I explained that I irritated the injury again. It meant so much to receive kindness from my sister in Christ.

1 Peter 1:5-7, “For this reason make every effort to add virtue to your faith; and to your virtue, knowledge; and to your knowledge, self-control; and to your self-control, patient endurance; and to your patient endurance, godliness; and to your godliness, brotherly kindness; and to your brotherly kindness, love.” Modern English Version

This morning I made a follow-up appointment with my doctor. I pray my sister gets medical attention, too.
