We Can’t Pick Our Family

I leave for the big reunion is in 45 minutes. Some of the family members I know well, and others I don’t see often. It’s killing me that I can’t remember the name of the cousin who makes a great pie!

Some of David’s cousins feel like brothers and sisters but a few I have trouble relating to because we don’t have much in common. But you can’t choose your family.

1 John 5:1, “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves the one born of the Father.” Modern English Version

“Every person who believes that Jesus is, in fact, the Messiah, is God-begotten. If we love the One who conceives the child, we’ll surely love the child who was conceived.” The Message

“When we become Christians, we become part of God’s family, with fellow believers as our brothers and sisters. It is God who determines who the other family members are, not us. We are simply called to accept and love them.” Life Application Study Bible Notes

I’m to love my brothers and sisters in Christ like I love my children!
