To the Bride and Groom

Our friend’s daughter got married on Saturday night. As father-of-the-bride, he gave the last toast.

“Angie asked me if she could date. I told her she would have to bring him in the house and introduce him to me. He came and picked up Angie but I didn’t know it.

Texting had just become available and my daughter is the texting queen. In the first month she sent 13,000 texts. I about had a heart attack when I got the bill! She texted him and knew when he arrived….

A year and a half ago, Brock called and asked to see us. He came to the door…the first time in 8 years…sat on the couch and asked for her hand….

When God created Adam and Eve, He said, ‘This is good.’ When I look at Brock and Angie, I say, ‘This is good.’ However, the best four words that our Father told Adam and Eve is my toast to Angie and Brock…”

With Room for Giraffes

I will never forget the first time I saw a giraffe at the zoo. They were inside a huge building and their height amazed me. Then I read today’s verse.

Genesis 6:16, “…Make it with a lower, a second, and a third story.” Modern English Version

“About 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high; or 135 meters long, 23 meters wide, and 14 meters high.” Modern English Version Notes

Was one of those stories at least 25 feet high to accommodate the giraffes? A male giraffe can grow 16-20 feet tall. Of course, Noah could have brought a young male and a young female into the ark. I don’t know how he could have brought an adult giraffe in.

He Rested on the Seventh Day

“I don’t want to admit that I got behind on my laundry…

…but I did just put in my third load of towels!”

Today I am playing catch up:

  • Catch up the laundry.
  • Catch up my journal.
  • Catch up my blog posts.

Between Friday and Monday, I spent over 9 hours in a vehicle! Sunday I read my Bible and when I read this verse I decided to wait until Monday to post it.

Genesis 2:2, “On the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.” Modern English Version

Then I was out-of-town all day Monday! Instead of Taco Tuesday, I am having a triple-post Tuesday!
