A Well of Running Water

I was talking with a farmer about Isaac reaping 100 fold during a famine. I told him Isaac dug wells and I’m sure he irrigated his crops.

He told me farmers who irrigate their crops around here dig their wells down 2000 feet. That’s a deep well!

I grew up in the mountains. Our water came from a spring. Fed by melting snow from the mountaintop, that water was always cold – even on the hottest days. You couldn’t swim in it but you could wade your feet in it for a few minutes.

One of the wells Isaac dug must have had a spring filling it.

Genesis 26:19, “…Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and found a well of running water.” Modern English Version
