I spent most of the weekend in bed. Although I watched several Christmas movies, my time was productive. I read 2 books: “Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey and “The Millionaire Next Door” by Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D. and William D. Danko, Ph.D.
We are way ahead of most of the population for 2 reasons…
“Same House, Same Spouse!”
(I didn’t realize my husband had millionaire potential! I just thought he hated moving!)
Another thing both books had in common was the advice – “Surround yourself with people of principle and discipline.”
How did the majority of them become millionaires? They had discipline and stuck to their principles. They did some of the same things I read in “America’s Cheapest Family” by Steve and Annette Economides.
In sports terms, they had a good offense and a good defense. Their offense was to make money from other sources besides their jobs. Their defense was to keep as much of it as possible.
In all three books, I recognized many things directly from the Bible. Today, we read the result of doing the opposite.
Judges 9:4, “…Abimelech hired unprincipled and undisciplined men, and they followed him.” Modern English Version
What was the result? Abimelech died when a woman dropped a rock on his head!
I took a lot of notes from those books. I have work to do!
