One of the benefits of daily Bible reading is charting your life-map. When you keep God in the center, He takes you places!
David wants to go to Oskaloosa today. A shoe store there carries his size – 14 or 15 depending on the brand. He wanted me to go along but it didn’t sound like much fun.
Then I remembered there are 2 houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright there. I printed the directions off and now I’m looking forward to driving by them.
God placed many gifts, desires, and interests in each of us. A successful life-map takes us to all those areas.
1 Kings 2:2, 3, “Be strong; show what you’re made of! (3) Do what God tells you. Walk in the paths He shows you: Follow the life-map absolutely, keep an eye out for the sign posts, His course for life set out in the revelation to Moses; then you’ll get on well in whatever you do and wherever you go.” The Message
A successful marriage consists of doing activities you both enjoy individually. (I’ve been to more ball games than I can count!)
Today we read the pre-marital Psalm written for King Solomon’s wedding. There are instructions for the groom…
Psalms 45:2-4, 7, “You’re the handsomest of men…God has blessed you…(3) Strap your sword to your side, warrior!…(4) Ride on the side of truth!…(7) You love the right and hate the wrong….” The Message
…and the bride…
Psalms 45:10, 11, “Now listen, daughter, don’t miss a word: forget your country, put your home behind you. (11) Be here – the king is wild for you. Since he’s your lord, adore him.” The Message
…and the newly married couple.
Psalms 45:16, “Set your mind on sons – don’t dote on father and grandfather.” The Message
