At The End of Your Rope

For many, today is the last day of Christmas vacation. I’m sure some mothers can’t wait for school to start again!

Matthew 5:3, “You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and His rule.” The Message

“Ann Quindlen correctly observed, ‘Love is not leisure, it is work.’ So even on those days when the dog bites or the bee stings, you should be quick to do the ‘walk’ required to give – and receive – love.”

David has been home for the last four days. Things have not gone as I planned! Routines just have to wait.

Matthew 5:7, “You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.” The Message

My upset routines are nothing compared to what Joseph endured.

“…Joseph…resented by his family, repeatedly tempted by his boss’s wife, then thrown into prison for thirteen years for a crime he never committed. Yet at his lowest points God was with him, arranging each step he took and positioning him to fulfill his calling as the deliverer of his people.” The Word for You Today, January 1, 2019

Joseph’s dreams are what sustained him. Do you have a dream?

Helping People or Leaving Them Helpless

Children loved Jesus. He would pull them up on his lap and hug them.

He touched everyone. Sometimes it was physical healing or restored hope. Other times His words erased the hurtful words of others.

The King James Bible says, “He went about doing good.” Be like Jesus. Help when you can wherever you can.

Mark 3:4, “Then He spoke to the people: ‘What kind of action suits the Sabbath best? Doing good or doing evil? Helping people or leaving them helpless?’ No one said a word.” The Message

Psalms 37:3, “Get insurance with God and do a good deed, …” The Message

I can hear you protesting – “It’s too late. I messed up. I have to start all over. I seem to only do evil.”

Mark 3:28, “Listen to this carefully. I’m warning you. There’s nothing done or said that can’t be forgiven.” The Message

1 John 1:9, “If we admit our sins – make a clean breast of them – He won’t let us down; He’ll be true to Himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing.” The Message

Have you offered a helping hand today?
