For the Rock Who Saved Us

March 17, 2019: Psalms 95, 97-100, 132.

I was happy to see Mary at church. Grief has made her a bit of a recluse. But when her grandson asked her to come to church with him, she agreed. It’s a decision she will never regret.

Pastor Monte Knudsen preached on “Dealing with Doubt.”

“Satan uses doubt to steal your purpose; kill your potential; and destroy your possibilities. …We have to recognize the source of doubt, resist it, and believe what God has said over our circumstances. …God keeps His promises and brings order to our chaos.” Pastor Monte Knudsen, Faith Christian Outreach Church, March 17, 2019

Austin, Mary’s grandson, decided he was done living in doubt. He went forward and prayed the “Save me, Jesus, Prayer”. Mary wasn’t the only one with tears in her eyes.

Psalms 95:1, “Come, let’s shout praises to God, raise the roof for the Rock who saved us!” The Message

Applause, Everyone!

March 16, 2019: 2 Chronicles 5, 6; Psalms 46-48, 87, 93.

Today is Richard and Kortney’s 40th Wedding Anniversary party. They are my daughter-in-law Bethany’s parents. Richard is a contractor and David sees him regularly at the lumberyard.

They are involved in many volunteer activities and work together as a team. (That is one secret to a long marriage: Work as a team!)

We picked up Mom to surprise them. They went to the same church for over a decade. Kortney was happy to see her and Mom got to catch up with other friends.

It was a day of celebration and joy! God was there in that church basement rejoicing with us. (Another secret to a long marriage: Go to church together faithfully!)

Psalms 47:1, “Applause, everyone. Bravo, bravissimo! Shout God-songs at the top of your lungs!” The Message

Psalms 47:9, “Princes from all over are gathered, people of Abraham’s God. The powers of earth are God’s – He soars over all.” The Message
