God Solves All Mysteries

May 31, 2019: Daniel 2-3.

Daniel 3:25, “‘Look!’ Nebuchadnezzar shouted. ‘I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a God!'” The Message

* * * * * * *

David: “I’ve always wondered why King Nebuchadnezzar thought the fourth man in the fire was a God?”

Me: “He was brighter than the fire.”

(As I walked down the hall, I pondered, “Now, how did I know that? I’ve never heard it in a sermon or remember reading it. I’ve quickly answered questions before and been wrong! What does the Bible say?”)

Matthew described what Jesus looked like when He was transfigured. Peter, James, and John were witnesses.

Matthew 17:2, “As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that His face shown like the sun, and His clothes became as white as light.” The Message

(See: Mark 9:2-8; Luke 9:28-36; and 2 Peter 1:16-18.)

Ezekiel saw God in a vision. He described Him in Chapter 1.

Ezekiel 1:27, “From what I could see, from the waist up He looked like burnished bronze and from the waist down a blazing fire. Brightness everywhere!” The Message

“The sun,” “white as light,” “brightness everywhere,” are phrases used to describe God and His son. But I still don’t know how I knew that answer. It was a mystery.

Daniel 2:47, “He said to Daniel, ‘Your God is beyond question the God of all gods, the Master of all kings. And He solves all mysteries, I know, because you’ve solved this mystery.'” The Message

That answer didn’t come from my head knowledge. It came from God in my heart. God knew the answer, I didn’t.
