In “Certain Peace in Uncertain Times: Embracing Prayer in an Anxious Age” Shirley Dobson shared an acrostic for prayer: P – Praise, R – Repent, A – Ask, Y – Yield.

I recently added praise to my quiet time. Today’s songs were “Fear is a Liar” and “No Longer Slaves.”

Repenting before I pray adds boldness and freedom to my conversation with God. I know my mistakes and failures are washed away by the Blood of Jesus. I can ask for anything but I yield to His will.

Why take all this time to enter into His presence? That is where I find answers.
