Eyes That See not

Our church held an Independence Day celebration last night. They had 7 food trucks, 5 bouncy houses, music, and a special speaker.

(I chose to stay home and play with twenty-two-month-old Gideon.)

Our daughter Laura went with David. She surprised us by staying for the fireworks.

Laura gets up between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. for work. I wondered if she got enough rest last night.

“Did Laura sleep on the way home?” I asked David.

“No,” he replied, “but her eyes were glazed over.”

That was a perfect example of someone in a stupor!

Romans 12:8, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes to see not and ears to hear not, down to this very day.”

New American Standard Bible

Dear Lord, give me eyes to see and ears to hear. Amen.
