Deuteronomy 17:18, “And when he sits on his royal throne, he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book….”
My husband’s grandfather was a wise man. I can tell by the books from his library that were given to my husband. He has a copy of the constitution. It’s a thick book; but I ran across it this week and made a mental note to read it.
I wonder how many elected officials have actually read it.
It would be good if every president-elect had to copy the constitution…by hand…before taking office. There is something about writing it out that helps you to remember it.
When I do my devotions, I write out the verse, notes and thoughts in a spiral notebook. It takes time. The other day, I was researching and writing down what I learned about the Stone of Zoheleth. My devotions took four hours that day…luckily, it was a Saturday!
I cannot make the elected officials even read the Constitution, or the Bible, but I can pray for them. God will use them for His will whether they, or we, like it or not. He is the one who sets kings on a throne, (1 Kings 19:16).
What verse impressed you?
