He Doesn’t Scrimp with His Traveling Companions

April 29, 2019: 2 Kings 18; Psalms 84; Isaiah 10.

I spent the day with Mom. She needed to review her insurance and wanted another set of ears. There is so much information. My sister accompanied her before and it was my turn.

After taking the Dave Ramsey class, I wanted to be sure she was protected. The insurance agent gave his recommendations. On the way home, I shared Dave Ramsey‘s recommendations. We discussed her options.

She wanted to buy me lunch and we headed to Bubba Q’s. We started with a salad the size I normally eat as a meal! Then came the three ribs, macaroni and cheese, and Texas Toast. I ate 1 rib, a couple bites of mac and cheese, and the toast. I took the rest home and ate it for another meal. Mom sure didn’t scrimp on lunch!

Psalms 84:11-12, “All sunshine and sovereign is God, generous in gifts and glory. (12) He doesn’t scrimp with His traveling companions. It’s smooth sailing all the way with God-of-the-Angel-Armies.” The Message

Live on What’s Left

March 31, 2019: 2 Kings 4, 5.

It was my first Sunday without satellite TV or recordings on a DVR. While taking the Dave Ramsey course, Financial Peace University, we decided to eliminate that bill.

We purchased 2 antennas for less than $25.00 each. The first one we put in the bedroom. It gets 8 channels – 4 of them are IPTV: IPTV Masterpiece and music, IPTV Kids, IPTV Science, and IPTV Food.

I enjoy watching the British shows “Victoria” and “Call the Midwife.” I watched part of an educational show before my nap.

My antenna also gets Fox, CW, NBC, and Grit. I can get my westerns! 🙂

The other antenna gets ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CW, Comet, and Grit. David has even watched a few games.

That’s the secret to financial independence.

  1. Sell what you don’t need.
  2. Make good on your debts, and
  3. Live on what’s left.

That secret has been in the Bible for thousands of years!

2 Kings 4:7, “She went and told the story to the man of God. He said, ‘Go sell the oil and make good on your debts. Live, both you and your sons, on what’s left.’ ” The Message
